ARISE: Health and wellbeing in informal settlements

Filmed in Freetown, Sierra Leone, the documentary looks at the realities of life for people living in informal settlements. It also explores ARISE’s community based participatory research approach, undertaken in partnership with communities to claim their rights to health, and address issues of health and political accountability to put people at the heart of decision making.

The documentary features interviews with senior researchers and co-researchers in Sierra Leone, who discuss themes of accessibility, power,health and wellbeing, sanitation, livelihood, climate change, and looks at how the data collected by ARISE can be used for evidence-based decision making.
